Come and enjoy outstanding natural beauty. Nestled between the Highlands of Cape Breton. The hostel is perfectly located in Pleasant Bay, halfway round the famous Cabot Trail, an ideal spot from which to explore Cape Breton. The Highlands National Park which surrounds the town is a nature lovers paradise, a haven for wildlife with excellent hiking trails. There are 27 great hiking trails in the park to explore, taking in waterfalls, coastal scenery and indigenous protected forests. Pleasant Bay is the whale watching capital of Cape Breton, ranked worldwide for it's guaranteed sightings and advantageous pricing. During the summer it is possible to see pilot whales, fin whales (2nd largest whale), minke whales, humpback whales and dolphins. Summer is a great time to enjoy all that the hostel has to offer, taking in the summer sunsets and majestic mountains, relaxing on the deck in the evening or enjoying a bonfire at the beach.

Wildlife, moose can be seen any time of year but summer is one of the best times. Moose are calmer in the summer as they feed on the plentiful vegetation. Summer is also the Snowcrab season, from mid July to mid September. These large crabs are considerted to be some of the best found anywhere.

The Cabot Trail is considered to be one of the most scenic drives in Canada taking you round the tip of Cape Breton with stunning mountains embraced by ocean views.
