We are now closed for the season. See you next year!!

The Cape Breton Highlands receives the highest average snowfall in Atlantic Canada, making for ideal conditions for great snowshoeing. Many of the trails that attract thousands of visitors in the summer, remain as yet still undiscovered for their wintertime charm and beauty. Trails like the Skyline and Benjies Lake, which are fantastic for snowshoeing and cross country skiing are stunning at this time of year. Downhill skiing at Cape Smokey or cross country skiing at North Higlands Nordic can be the most exciting winter activities in Nova Scotia.

Wintertime here is glorious, come enjoy snowshoeing like no other place in Nova Scotia. We offer two and three night packages for a weekend get away, minimum of three and a maximum of six people per tour. Shuttle service is available from many areas of Nova Scotia, email us at tours@CabotTrail.com for more info on transportation.

Weekend Get Away: Arrive at the hostel on Friday night, relax and unwind from your long drive. Saturday morning off on a winter adventure through the highlands. Spend most of the day downhill skiiing, cross country skiing or snowshoeing with scenic views of the Cabot Trail in winter. Then a fun night back at the hostel as you unwind from a great day. Sunday, it's back on the road to reality, Oh well, you can always come back again.

We also welcome people for longer stays or days through the week, although your own transportation is recommended, we arrange to pick you up. We can also help with self guided hikes and skiing.
