Cabot
Trail Whale Watching is a water-based nature-tourism operation
that specializes in whale watching. Our mission is being and remaining
the leader of Zodiac-style whale watching on the Cabot Trail.
We are committed to ensuring a safe and enjoyable whale watching
experience while providing an adventure filled and knowledge-based
trip to all passengers.
Cabot Trail Whale Watching is more then just a whale tour, it's
an enlightened experience. The privilege of spending time with
these remarkable animals is not something that we take for granted,
every trip is unique and is organized with the whales in mind.
We try to adapted to their environment, not them adapting to ours.
To view whales is one thing but to have whales see us as a positive
part of their environment and try to interact and communicate
is an experience like no other, it makes you feel a little more
human.
All tours offer a money back guarantee if you don't see any whales,
although we don't see whales as a produced to be guaranteed, we
will go a step farther and refund your money if for some obvious
reason you are not pleased with our whale watching operation.
“If we could do it for free, we would”
The
Zodiac ride is an experience on it's own, we can travel much faster
than cabin cruiser style vessels. Zodiacs are designed for rough
conditions and are use by coast guard for search and rescue, also
the boat of choice for marine biologists and researchers.
Your
Capt. Jeff Timmons, born and raised in Pleasant Bay, is a fifth
generation resident that has family roots dating back to the first
settlers in the area. As a sea faring family, his entire life
has been evolved from the ocean. A fisherman from a very young
age, Jeff has over 20 years experience working on the sea and
gained the knowledge and respect for the ocean that was handed
down for generations. Jeff has all the training required by Transport
Canada to operate a zodiac, including MED. (Marine Emergency Duties).
No other zodiac operator on Cape Breton Island has done more whale
watching tours then Jeff, making him the most experienced in his
filed.
